About Working Here

Volunteers come to The Old Tannery from all over the world. Some come for peace, some come for a free holiday, some come to see how we are building an eco-community. But whatever the motivation, they all seem to have fun whilst they are here!

Working here is simple, we assign you tasks to be completed during your stay, and ask for two hours of your time each day to do whatever we need to be done at that time. In return, we offer you free basic accommodation in The Little House at The Old Tannery in a gorgeously green location. The rest of your time is yours to enjoy as you please 🙂

Unlike most volunteer placements, we do not offer free food, so please be aware of this when making your arrangements to stay here (we wouldn’t want you going hungry!)

If you’d like to know more, please check out our volunteer Information for more details.
